The solution to the climate crisis #poem

I watch the planet burn from my couch and dream of summer lakes
Now dried up while my tear ducts act up

I long for the vastness of mountains once white
The waking to birds chirping and fighting on the roof
Now I cry fifty shades of concrete and walls
burning my cheeks on their way to my marbled floor

I watch blue planet from my couch and dream of snorkeling days
May I leave the city and go home
May my tears reach the roots of the trees most in need
soak nutrients into the earth and flow into our rivers

May I be a mere drop in the ocean to evaporate from fumes
and rain down back into the city to clean whoever’s windshield.
